Dan Smith Wins Optilink Tour Championship

Published:
March 1, 2025

Dan Smith was a picture of consistency for the 2025 season, backing up a monster 2024 campaign with a very respectable 10 under par and 206 total score. The 70, 67, and 69 rounds displayed accuracy and flexibility, the ability to produce under pressure. Each round was an example of his poise and skill, keeping him firmly in contention to take the victory.

Despite his star turn, Smith's pursuit of the Order of Merit title fell just short, as Daniel da Costa Rodrigues secured the number one spot with a clutch 5th-place finish at the Tour Championship. Smith's relentless determination was in full view, but Rodrigues' consistent play was the deciding factor in claiming the overall honours for the year.

Smith was pushed hard by Portugal's Tomás Melo Gouveia, who matched his 10 under par score, creating a thrilling duel on the leader board. Smith's year may have ended with a near miss, but his form and determination point to even more significant victories being well within his reach.
