Simberg Outshines the Weather at NAU Alamos Open I

Published:
January 20, 2025

Casper Simberg of Finland secured his first win on the PT Tour at the NAU Alamos Open I, finishing the event 8-under-par with a total score of 134. The tournament was reduced to just 36 holes due to adverse weather, but Simberg’s consistent performance over the two rounds—67 on both Day 1 and Day 2—was enough to earn him the title.

Simberg’s ability to stay focused through challenging conditions proved key as he finished one stroke ahead of the players tied for second place. Ireland’s Mark Power and Italy’s Frederico Zucchetti both finished at 7-under-par, sharing the runner-up position after battling their way through the shortened event.

Despite the weather delays, Simberg kept his game intact, avoiding mistakes and playing steadily under pressure. His back-to-back rounds of 67 reflected his resilience and skill, allowing him to edge out the competition and claim the win.

This victory marks an important milestone for Simberg’s career, and with this triumph in the books, he will look to build on his success as the PT Tour season progresses.
