Scotland’s Kieran Cantley won a closely fought battle for the “Pinheiros Open III” with Paul Maddy who, for the second tournament in a row, has been the “Bridesmaid”.
Curtis Knipes headed the field by two shots after the first round with a scintillating 6 under par 66 that included an Eagle 2 at the par 4 eighth hole.
After the second round it was George Bloor and Ben Stow who led the pack by a single shot on 4 under par from Irelands John Ross Galbraith with England’s James Wilson and the eventual winner Cantley and Knipes, a further shot back.
In the final round Paul Maddy again rushed through the field carding an excellent 5 under par 67 to once again set the clubhouse lead with a short wait to see if it would be good enough, this time!
Meanwhile out on the course Cantley Birdied the sixteenth and seventeenth to take a one-shot lead to the final hole and with a nerveless display secured the required par to win.
