Late surge seals NAU Morgado Open title for Joshua Ashton

Published:
February 15, 2026

Joshua Ashton produced a composed and consistent display to secure victory at the NAU Morgado Open, held at Morgado Golf Course on 2 February, finishing the 36-hole stroke play event on nine under par.

The UK professional topped the leaderboard with rounds of 70 and 67 for an aggregate score of 137, pulling clear of the field in a tightly contested tournament. Ashton’s strong second round proved decisive, allowing him to edge ahead and claim the title with a one-shot margin.

Close behind in second place was fellow UK professional Josef Hacker, who finished on eight under par with a total of 138. Hacker posted rounds of 70 and 68, applying steady pressure throughout but ultimately falling just short of the top spot.

Third place was shared by a strong international group, all finishing on seven under par (139). The tied third-place finishers included Bel Wardle, Kasper Kristiansen of Denmark, Bob Van Der Voort of the Netherlands, England amateur Jordan Boles, and English professional Dan Smith.

With a competitive field and scoring conditions encouraging aggressive play, the NAU Morgado Open once again showcased emerging and established talent, with Ashton’s measured approach and late surge proving the difference at the top of the leaderboard.
